Maceo Parker (14/2/1943), funk e soul jazz saxofonista, é famoso por sua contribuição para o som único de James Brown. Mas em 1975, Maceo e outros membros da banda de brown vazaram para tocar no Parliament de George Clinton. De 84 a 88 voltou à banda de Brown. No fim dos anos 90 trabalhou com Prince em gravações e shows. Mas desde o início dessa década, havia começado uma bela carreira solo (entre 71 e 73 já havia tido um grupo, Maceo & All the Kings Men). Os shows de Maceo são famosos por durar mais de 2h e meia. Então pode vir quente que nós tamo preparado pra chacoalhar as pelancas. Isso porque nesta quinta ele toca aqui na área. Também espero alguma homenagem ao seu camaradinha, recentemente intimado pelo além, James Brown. O que me deixa na expectativa de ouvir algumas canções com mais feeling e emoção. Melhor ainda!
Maceo Parker (born February 14, 1943) is a funk and soul jazz saxophone player, best known for his contributions to James Brown's distinct sound. In 1975 Maceo and some of Brown's band members, including Fred Wesley, left to join George Clinton's Parliament. Maceo once again joined James Brown from 1984 to 1988. In the late 1990s, Maceo began contributing semi-regularly to recordings by Prince and accompanying his band (The New Power Generation) on tour. But before that, in the 1990s, he had embraced a successful solo career. It's also worth noting that his average play time on stage is more than two and a half hours. Next thursday, we´ll have the chance to enjoy this endless funky energy. I guess at least a small homage will take place to his long time fellow that recently passed away James Brown. We are in the mood for he can offer us, either if it is sensitive or shaking (everything we´ve got) cuts!
